Get spooked at The Seance
Take a seat and experience intimate terror with 12 other strangers as magician and performer Jason Suran recreates the chilling and unexplainable séance experience of the early 20th century. Whether it's a play, a conversation or contact with the other side, it has the potential to be chilling.
Highlight Studios, 36 E 30th St, 7, 9, 11pm, $60, through OCt 31

Creep it up at "House of Wax: Anatomical, Pathological, and Ethnographic Waxworks from Castan's Panopticum, Berlin, 1869-1922"
Berlin’s famed Panopticum used to be one of the world’s most fabulous macabre showcases, with wax reproductions as well as human specimens that graphically showed syphillis-infected organs, digestive tracks and other startling phenomena, along with taxidermy and “death masks” of famous mass murderers. Relive the grim glory of the faded freak show at this exhibit, which invites you to take a literal look inside.
Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424A Third Ave, Brooklyn, $5

Laugh at tragedy at Chris Gethard: Career Suicide
The stand-up, sketch and improv performer known best for The Chris Gethard Show presents an hour-long set covering suicide, alcoholism and other dark themes, with his genuine charm and curiosity. Ubiquitous NYC performer and Punderdome 3000 host Jo Firestone joins him for a night of delightfully batty stand-up.
Union Hall, 702 Union St, Brooklyn, 8pm, $8
