Moon Duo: March 9 at Rough Trade NYC
Past records from pop-psychedelia duo Moon Duo (cofounded by Wooden Shjips guitarist Ripley Johnson) have hypnotized us with distorted pop melodies. But judging by the pair's latest single, "Animal"—an eerie space-rock assault—the group is on a whole other trip this time out. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 16 at Ticketmaster

Diarrhea Planet: April 4 at Bowery Ballroom
For a band with such an icky name, Diarrhea Planet sure does have its, ahem, shit together. This Nashville sextet channels abundant hooks and electrifying chops into some of the tightest, most ecstatically fun rawk out there right now. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 16 at Ticketmaster.

Waxahatchee: April 9 at the Music Hall of Williamsburg
Katie Crutchfield's disarmingly vulnerable indie-pop project, Waxahatchee, caught our attention—and seemingly everyone else's—with 2013's Cerulean Salt. This year, the singer-songwriter is ready to do it again with her latest, Ivy Tripp. As you can hear on uplifting first single "Air," Waxahatchee promises new-folk gold. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 16 at Ticketmaster

Chet Faker + XXYYXX: April 8 at Terminal 5
Aussie singer-producer Chet Faker, real name Nick Murphy, specializes in buttery, sensual, R&B-inflected indie pop, sprinkled with electronic flourishes. (And it all started with an inspired cover of "No Diggity" in 2011.) Still touring in support of his 2014 debut, Built on Glass, Faker hits town with trip-hop prodigy XXYYXX. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 16 at Ticketmaster

Matt and Kim: May 14 at Terminal 5
Simplicity may have been what propelled Brooklyn duo Matt and Kim from local DIY glory to the international festival circuit: just two musicians playing bouncy pop music. But it's the pair's real-deal enthusiasm that makes their shows feel like joyous exorcisms of every cynical thought you've ever had. Here, Matt and Kim gig behind their forthcoming new LP, aptly titled New Glow. Tickets go on sale Friday, Jan 16 at Ticketmaster.
