If, like the author of this post, you have been procrastinating on getting an NYC municipal ID card for weeks even though you can make an appointment online and it doesn’t even really take that long, you’re in luck. You now have another year to take advantage of the card’s amazing free memberships program. Literally, an entire year. Don’t mess this up.

IDNYC offers free one-year membership to 33 of the best cultural institutions in the city including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the New York Botanical Garden. You originally had until the end of 2015 to sign up for a card and take advantage of the deals, but that’s now being extended through the end of 2016.

On top of that, the program is adding seven more participating institutions including the Metropolitan Opera, the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art. You may have heard of them? Excuse me.

Find out more about the program here for which 670,000 New Yorkers have already taken advantage of.
