Andrew Solomon

Solomon, who won the National Book Award for The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression, took ten years to write his new title, Far from the Tree. This time, the author concerns himself with parents whose children are different from them in profound ways (e.g., they may be deaf, autistic or transgender) and how these mothers and fathers provide for their kids.
