Damien Echols

Echols was one of three Arkansas teens who were arrested and, after a long, strange trial, wrongfully convicted of the 1993 murder of a trio of younger boys. He and his friends were released in 2011, and Echols tells his tale in the memoir Life After Death. The story details the boys’ childhood and the circus that accompanied their detainment and trial, as well as the work others did on the outside to help free the men as adults.
