Bowed Piano Ensemble

Founded and led by composer Stephen Scott, this unique institution produces haunting, bewitching sounds using precisely the means suggested by its name: Picture a cadre of black-clad players bent down into a piano's casing, stroking its strings with strands of fishing line. You have to hear it to believe it—and you might not get another chance, since this concert marks Scott's retirement from Colorado College.
