A highly touted ensemble formed by students from Yale University's School of Music and Institute of Sacred Music, Cantata Profana makes its Roulette debut with a program built around Peter Maxwell Davies's Eight Songs for a Mad King, a virtuosic, profoundly harrowing work that evokes King George III's descent into madness. Surrounding that piece are complementary works by Maxwell Davies, Monteverdi and Handel.
