It's easy to think of Charles Wuorinen as the last of the great American modernist composers, a claim that would not be misplaced, given the rigor of his work. But don't make the mistake of glossing over the wit, whimsy and sheer pizzazz in his canon, three prime examples of which—Fast Fantasy, Iridule and New York Notes—will be performed by an expert crew of players for this lively celebration, which also includes an onstage chat.
