CONTACT! at the Biennial: Beyond Recall

New York Philharmonic Biennial. These gigs at MoMA's Agnes Lund Garden Lobby are an extension of the Philharmonic's regular-season series devoted to new music. Matthias Pintscher conducts members of the orchestra in nine different U.S. premieres of works—including Olga Neuwirth's Piazza dei numeri—inspired by sculptures imported from Salzburg. If you're hopping around town on a Biennial marathon, the art-installation setting should make for an excellent late-night comedown.
