Das Rheingold

The Met fires up the notorious "Machine" in a revival of Robert Lepage's high-tech, low-concept Rheingold, the start of a clutch of complete Ring cycles mounted to observe the Wagner bicentennial. Mark Delavan plays Wotan, Stephanie Blythe is Fricka, and Eric Owens repeats his star turn as Alberich; Fabio Luisi conducts.
