Gloria–A Pig Tale

New York Philharmonic Biennial. Conductor Alan Gilbert has an affection for HK Gruber's sardonic theater works, so it should be exciting to hear him conduct Juilliard's AXIOM ensemble in this two-act opera (about a beautiful pig). The puppet-and-video technicians of Giants Are Small—the same outfit that triumphed with the New York Philharmonic's staging of Ligeti's Le grand macabre—are responsible for the staging.
