MATA Festival

Charging headlong into its 15th season, this always challenging, always worthwhile new-music festival is taking an especially international approach to its work this year, starting with a concert by well-regarded Israeli ensemble Meitar on Apr 18. The program on Apr 19 examines the old adage about necessity being the mother of invention, in a program of works for unorthodox techniques and gear. And on Apr 20, the Talea Ensemble turns its customary precision to a globe-trotting slate of composers.
