After singer, composer and choreographer Meredith Monk hears the St. Louis Symphony play her new orchestral opus Weave, on Mar 22, she completes her yearlong Carnegie residency with this blockbuster concert. She and her well-drilled vocal ensemble present selections from iconic works, some of which have not been seen in New York for some time now. (Most tantalizing are the promised excerpts from her groundbreaking opera Atlas.) Other classic items from Monk's catalog will be heard in new arrangements by the likes of Missy Mazzoli, David Lang and ex–Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo. Soprano Jessye Norman and DJ Spooky are among the other luminaries scheduled to help commemorate Monk's singular career.
