The late German composer Karlheinz Stockhausen's unlikely transformation from avant-garde bogeyman to box-office sensation, effected in recent years with a string of sold-out events at the Park Avenue Armory, continues with a stunningly inventive new production of an instrumental excerpt from the composer's Licht cycle of operas. Depicting the angel Michael's journey of terrestrial discovery, the work is presented by crack German new-music crew Ensemble musikFabrik in collaboration with director Carlus Padrissa of the Catalan street-theater company La Fura dels Baus. Wear bright blue to synch up with Stockhausen’s desired effect.
