Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

The local chamber ensemble plays the world premiere of Gabriel's Guide to the 48 States, a new song cycle by genre-bending composer-in-residence Gabriel Kahane. The work, a tribute to a set of tourism pamphlets commissioned in the 1930s by the U.S. government, is juxtaposed with Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht.
