Pacifica Quartet

The Pacifica Quartet, which has made a name for itself with definitive recordings and performances of Elliott Carter's hypercomplex string quartets, goes (mostly) retro at this gig, with Haydn's Op. 76, No. 4, Puccini's Crisantemi for String Quartet and Mendelssohn's Quartet in F minor, Op. 80. The New York premiere of composer Shulamit Ran's Glitter, Doom, Shards, Memory adds a touch of the contemporary to the bill.
