Director Michael Mayer relocates Verdi's stormy drama of betrayal and revenge to that most all-American of settings, Las Vegas in the 1960s. Zeljko Lucic plays the grand title role, with Diana Damrau as his innocent daughter, Gilda, and Piotr Beczala as the randy Duke of Mantua; Michele Mariotti conducts.
