What's in a name? For this particular quartet, a whole lot of tradition: Jan Talich founded the quartet he named in honor of his uncle, the great Czech conductor Václav Talich, in 1964, and steered it until 1970. Led by his son, Jan Talich Jr., since 1997, the quartet maintains a high standard; tonight it offers the sole quartets of Debussy and Ravel, a pairing clichéd but still seductive.
