The Rape of Lucretia

The fine student performers of Juilliard Opera present a fully staged production of Britten's gripping 1946 opera, based on a Shakespeare poem as filtered through a French play and a potent Ronald Duncan libretto. The staging is directed by Mary Birnbaum. Mark Shapiro conducts the Juilliard Orchestra.
