Japanese composer and performer Toshiya Tsunoda creates music that in many ways challenges the boundaries of what is perceptible as music, particularly in a long series of intricately conceived, minutely detailed works based on field recordings of natural sound sources. In town for the opening of "Soundings: A Contemporary Score" at MoMA, here Tsunoda presents new pieces for laptop, vibration plates and sine tones, with accompanying films.
