Up-close

White Light Festival. Dutch composer Michel van der Aa has made a name for himself not only by writing brilliant, accessible and engaging music, but by innovatively making film and video elements (which he designs and directs himself) integral parts of his work. This portrait concert includes the U.S. premiere of his award-winning interactive cello concerto, Up-close, played by Kaori Yamagami with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, plus three more intimate works performed by members of the International Contemporary Ensemble.
