DJ mix: Agaric

A set of deep house beats, courtesy of one of the We Are label chief.

If you prefer your house to be deep and driving, focused and linear, hypnotic and pretty damn groovy, than young Patrik Skoog—better known as the Swedish DJ producer Agaric, master of the We Are label—is your man. His vibey beats were on full display on last year’s Who Made Up the Rules LP (released on Josh Wink’s Ovum label), and you can get more of the same on this spellbinding set, recorded live at Ghent, Belgium’s Plug In party. (Don’t miss the cut-up/remix/whatever of Eddie Kendricks’s “Keep on Truckin’” that kicks in around the 33-minute mark.) And you crave even more, Agaric himself is spinning this Saturday, May 19 at Sullivan Room’s Propaganda shindig.

Agaric plays Sullivan Room's Propaganda party on Saturday, May 19.
