There are a ton of great electronic-dance-music events this weekend, but this one bears special mention, with DJ Spun's Rong label hosting a night of real-deal acid-house action. We're talking really real-deal here: Phuture—the Chicago trio that invented the sound, somewhat by accident, in the mid-’80s—is performing live, and DJ Pierre, one of its founding members, is laying down a DJ set. (The party is named for the 1988 track "We Are Phuture," which was just rereleased with remixes from Carl Cox and Steve Ward.) The L.I.E.S. label's Steve Summers, Dust and Spun himself lend support.
