The awe-inspiring Velocity Chyaldd and her !BadAss! Burlesque buddies really do love Janis Joplin—enough so that the crew’s last extravaganza, held on Friday, May 24 at the East Village’s Kraine Theater, was devoted in its entirety to the beloved blues belter. Starring Juliet Jeske as the reincarnation of Pearl herself, the show featured an all-star array of talent, including Cassandra Rosebeetle, Rev. Mother Flash, Delysia LeChatte, Boo Boo Darlin', Nasty Canasta, Kat Mon Dieu, Legs Malone, Danger Doll, Gal Friday, Francine “The Lucid Dream,” stage masters Faceboy and SuperMorgan, and stage kitten Amanda Whip. As the late Joplin might have said, “You know you got it, if it makes you feel good.”
