Time Out says

Raymond Scott's name might not be as familiar to electronic-music fans as, say, Robert Moog or Kraftwerk. But like Moog, Scott played a crucial role in pioneering the instruments that would pave the way for the synths, sequencers and whatnot that came later. His work predates Kraftwerk's use of those gadgets in popular-music formats, perhaps most notably in the music he provided for Warner Bros.' Looney Tunes cartoons. Deconstructing Dad: The Music, Machines and Mystery of Raymond Scott comes out on the 75th anniversary of his start in the music biz. Directed by Scott's son, Stanley Warnow, it's a beautiful, personal look back on the man's career; it's essential viewing for anyone interested in the history of popular electronics. Screenings are at 1,3, 5:15, 7:30 and 9:50pm.
