Dig Deeper: Stranger Cole + Patsy

Dusty-fingered record freaks Mr. Robinson and DJ Honky are back with their night devoted to vintage funk and soul. This edition's focus is on southern climes—way southern—with two legends of Jamaican soul, ska and rocksteady serving as the guests. Stranger Cole is a veteran recording artist who's worked with such seminal producers as Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, Prince Buster and Lee "Scratch" Perry, while Patsy was one of the island's go-to vocalists in the ’60s, recording with the likes of Derrick Morgan, Eric "Monty" Morris and, of course, Cole. The Crazy Baldhead crew serves as the backup band, while additional selections come courtesy of Deadly Dragon Sound System.
