Close is on his way to NYC to play at SRB Brooklyn on Friday, July 19, at a party tossed by the Fixed and Verboten gangs. And just who is this Close fellow, you ask? Why, it’s none other than Will Saul, the talented electronic-house DJ-producer who runs Simple Records and Aus Music. His new persona sees the talented artist working in deep, intimate and slightly subdued mode, a bit more laid-back than some of his previous efforts but brimming with grace a beauty; a new album, Getting Closer (featuring appearances from Scuba, Fink, Appleblim and Tanner Ross) has just come out on the !K7 label. In the run-up to the gig, TONY was lucky enough to get it hands on a Close mix, and you should take the time to check it out, as it’s s a gorgeous mix of tunes. Extra props for the inclusion of Aphrodisiac’s 1990 cut, “Song Of The Siren”—a gem if ever there was one.
