James Brown Night

New York Night Train's Jonathan Toubin teams up with No Wave prime mover James Chance to man the decks and salute Soul Brother No. 1. But the main attraction will be a live performance by Chance and the J.C.'s (a tribute to Brown's band, the J.B.'s). Also featured are the Voidoid's Ivan Julian; Defunkt's Kim Clark; Robert Aaron; Richard Dworkin, who served as the drummer for one of Chance's classic combos, James White and the Blacks; and Jail Bait, a collaboration between Jen Reynolds from the Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black and Matthew McAuley and Brian McPeck (who are both in A.R.E. Weapons).
