The people behind this salute to the ’70s (tossed in conjunction with WCBS) aim to transform the Hammerstein Ballroom into the “ultimate disco club in New York City.” They might need to hire some cocaine-addled designers and drunken, over-the-hill starlets to add a bit of authenticity to that effort. But with a lineup that includes Chic (featuring Nile Rodgers, whose partner, Bernard Edwards, passed away in 1996), Tavares, the Trammps, France Joli, and Howard Melvin’s Blue Notes, the music will certainly have the right feel. Added bonus: Dance Fever’s Deney Terrio is one of the cohosts.
