The U.K.'s Mad Professor has been one of dub's main players since the early ’80s; his No Protection (a version of Massive Attack's Protection) blew many a mind, and his Ariwa Sounds studio helped drag the art form into the modern age. He'll be working the knobs tonight as part of his Roots of Dubstep tour, which (probably not coincidentally) coincides with the release of his latest compilation, A Ruff Guide to Ariwa Sounds. Subatomic Sound System is the Brooklyn collective that fuses dub technique to all manner of rhythmic molds.
