Nextah: Cubic Zirconia + Andrea Balency

Nextah—a night of outer-limits funk, electro and more, presented by Good Peoples—returns to the fray with a throwdown in the East Village's Drom. Onstage turns come courtesy of the always-worth-catching local fave Cubic Zirconia (laying down a set of pleasingly skewed, electro-rocky bass music) and the French-Mexican artist Andrea Balency, a graduate of 2011's Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid who creates elegant, multilayered pop soundscapes that use a wide sonic palette that includes accordion and autoharp. Nick Hook (who doubles as a Cubic Zirconia member), Ghostly International's Michna and Project Matt are the night's DJs.
