The BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, is just around the corner, and Sankeys NYC is doing its part to get us in the mood by bringing in a crew of hallowed Detroit producers. (In case you're wondering about the connection between frigid Motor City and the sunny Mayan Riviera, at least two of these guys will be spinning at the beats-and-bikinis throwdown.) Kenny Larkin's version of house and techno takes plenty of inventive, unexpected twists and turns; his fellow second-waver Stacey Pullen is a hell of a producer and DJ who can pack a dance floor with ease; and Octave One is the seminal Detroit techno unit led by brothers Lenny and Lawrence Burden.
