Before the Bunker came into existence a decade ago, there were very few nights in New York devoted to envelope-pushing electronic dance music; now, we’ve got oodles of ’em. Coincidence? We think not—the party blazed the trail for the bevy of affairs Gotham now has to offer. It’s done so with an uncompromising attitude, paying little heed to commercial trends and concentrating on sheer quality. Tonight’s edition is a good example, with the acidic musings of Tin Man, the ultradeep house of Fred P, the atmospheric synth material of Professor Genius and the otherworldly, narcotic music of Madteo among the night’s sounds. The party doubles as a going-away celebration for Bunker resident Eric Cloutier.
