The magnificently puckish Scottish stage-and-screen actor Alan Cumming (Cabaret) collaborates with choreographer Steven Hoggett (Once) to create a dance-theater tribute to Scotland's National Bard, Robert Burns (whose old acquaintance is brought to mind each year in the singing of "Auld Lang Syne"). Set to music by Anna Meredith, the piece tries not to gang agley as it draws on Rabbie's personal correspondence to depict the proto-Romantic poet's inner life as well as his public achievements.
