Flamenco Festival

The annual Flamenco Festival returns to showcase a wide range of variations on the Spanish form. The heart of the programming is at New York City Center, which offers performances by Rocío Molina (March 27), María Pagés Compañía (March 28, 29) and the all-male, cross-dressed Compañía Manuel Liñán (April 3). The "Gala de Andalucía" (Apr 4, 5) features Eduardo Guerrero, María Moreno, Mercedes Ruiz, María Terremoto and—in a rare late-career appearance—the international flamenco star La Chana. The festival of music and dancing also extends to some 20 other venues throughout the city, including the Town Hall, Skirball Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center, 92Y and Joe's Pub.
