Kyle Abraham is inspired by John Singleton's Boyz N the Hood in Pavement, an exploration of discrimination and the struggle for a better life; the choreographer sets his tale in Pittsburgh, where he grew up in the ’90s. The program also includes Marc Bamuthi Joseph's Word Becomes Flesh, an ensemble hip-hop work performed by the Living Word Project and inspired by fatherhood and race.
