The American choreographer and designer Trajal Harrell, currently based in Switzerland, is best known for his project Twenty Looks or Paris is Burning at The Judson Church, which compared and contrasted two very different NYC dance scenes. In this return to the city, he also returns to queer ballroom culture with a piece that finds him narrating a fashion show of his own designs, as modeled in a Mondrian-inspired space by members of his Zürich Dance Ensemble. The soundtrack ranges from minimalism to pop funk and spoken excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.
