Nora Chipaumire

For the 2012 Next Wave Festival, Zimbabwean choreographer Nora Chipaumire presents Miriam, which is inspired by the singer and activist Miriam Makeba and explores the struggle of representing a culture in art. Pianist Omar Sosa accompanies the performance, which also features excerpts from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, interviews with Makeba and Christian prayers.
