Ronald K. Brown and his Brooklyn company merge contemporary movement and spoken-word poetry with traditional African dance. As the choreographer recovers from a recent stroke, his troupe returns to the Joyce with a bill that includes Upside Down and Come Ye (set to music of by Oumou Sangare, Fela Kuti, and Nina Simone) and a reprise of Brown's 1996 work Ebony Magazine: To A Village (with original music by Wunmi Olaiya).
