"The View from a Volcano: The Kitchen's Soho Years, 1971–1985"

Through Aug 27. As part of the Kitchen's 40th-anniversary season, this exhibition explores the organization's early history as a home for experimental performance-based art, through video, audio and print documentation. The show covers work by Vito Acconci, Laurie Anderson, Trisha Brown, Lucinda Childs, Simone Forti, Philip Glass, Bill T. Jones, Meredith Monk, Cindy Sherman, the Talking Heads and Lawrence Weiner.
