Yang Liping Contemporary Dance: Under Siege

In this Mostly Mozart Festival offering, Chinese dance queen Yang combines folk dance, martial arts, gymnastics and hip-hop to depict the culminating battle between the armies of the Han and Western Chu powers in 202 B.C.E. The extravagant sets and costumes are by Oscar-winning designer Tim Yip (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon).
