The central idea may be indebted to Antonioni’s Blowup, but this is one of De Palma’s best efforts, as well as the finest dramatic performance turned in by John Travolta until his 1994 Pulp Fiction tour de force. Hungarian cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond lensed the film in eye-catching widescreen.
