Chekhov for Children

In 1979, a group of grade-schoolers decided to put on a Broadway production of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya (directed by none other than the celebrated essayist Phillip Lopate). This doc interviews cast members, includes clips of the rehearsals and attests to the power of art on impressionable young minds. Lopate, the filmmaker and some of the now-grown players will participate in a postscreening Q&A.
