Goodbye, Dragon Inn

This feature from bone-dry Taiwanese minimalist Tsai pushes his customary comic longueurs to the breaking point. It’s about the closing night of a Taipei cinema, populated by a few stray viewers and, charmingly, the stars of the martial-arts flick that’s unspooling before them. This requires patience, but Tsai is never unrewarding.
