You know how, in some films, the screen will fade to black, and a title along the lines of "Three Years Later" will be superimposed? Unlike most movies, this Japanese drama about a woman dealing with her husband's suicide takes place in that limbo period; it's yet another example of how Hirokazu Koreeda can turn the mundane into the magnificent.
