Man of Aran

The Aran Islands can be found off the coast of Galway, Ireland, and Flaherty’s doc depicts the day-to-day struggles of local fishermen in a way that’s consistently absorbing—and virtually manipulation-free, unlike some of the documentarian’s better-known films.
