The portly comedian stars with Jack Oakie (“He’s a stitch, that Oakie,” as Charlie says in Barton Fink) in the wacky, surrealistic Million Dollar Legs, in which Fields is the president of a fictional country entering the Olympics. The Bank Dick is one of the comic's best; Fields not only plays the hapless title character but also wrote the screenplay, employing the pseudonym Mahatma Kane Jeeves.
