Gérard Depardieu, Nicole Garcia and Roger Pierre unwittingly demonstrate a scientist’s theories on human behavior in Renais's remarkable, often hilarious combination of naturalistic drama and mock-documentary. It's easily one of the filmmaker's mid-period best.
