Shadow of a Doubt

Hitchcock often named this one when asked which of his movies was his favorite. The story is about the precarious relationship between a teenager (Teresa Wright) and her beloved uncle (Joseph Cotten)—who happens to be a sociopathic killer. The film is both a chilling character study and a vivid, disturbing portrait of small-town America.
