Shoot the Piano Player

Truffaut indulged his playful side in this wide-screen gangster comedy-melodrama, in which the line “or may my mother drop dead this instant” is followed by a shock cut to the old lady suddenly expiring. Also on the bill is Pierre Etaix and Jean-Claude Carriere's short "Happy Anniversary" (1962).
